That game looks horrible...

Even though this commercial is old and cheesy, I cannot for the life of me figure out how they did the special effects shot from 0:20 to 0:23. It's amazingly realistic. Before the hand grabs the car you'd swear it was real on a real street (even a guy running in the background). As the hand grabs and lifts, there seems to be no transition to a model. (1) They couldn't do smooth blends from real to model then, and (2) there are no black lines you'd normally see in bluescreen from that time.
