I had an atari 2600 I think I must have been about 6 or 7. £129.95 I didnt realise they cost that much that was an expensive console back then. Anyone else wish they still had theirs?

The games were very expensive.

i like it funny

Alls that was required was one joystick and one button..simple, cant get my head round the pads of today, too many buttons haha

Got an atari for xmas 1981 (i think). cost around £120.00 with 1 game called combat. Brought defender which was ?25.00 which was alot of money then in fact ive still got it in my loft.

Yeah, I agree, mebbe not a month, but sooo expensive, and the games were crap. You could have a go for 10p in those days. Defender was the best game then, way ahead.

The advert is really catchy. I remember having an Atari 2600 when my NES broke in the late 80's. All in all, it wasn't a bad Second-Gen system at all, but I still knock them for ET and the other ridiculous games they made back then.

Look at the price of that mutha fuker! £129!! That was a months wages back then!

i just bought mine from game last week for £299.they recommended it as it has better graphics than 360...............

Where to buy this Atari console?? Been looking everywhere... All they've got in my local department stores is Playstation 3's and Nintendo Wii's. Maybe they've all sold out because of christmas.

yeah, my dad used to use those. he said it was the only computer game he's ever been remotely good at!

yes! i vaguely remember those as a kid in some pubs, i remember the space invaders one, it would have been mid 80s but it looked like they'd been there a few years!

Does anyone else out there remember playing these games in the pub, sitting at low games tables? Would have been in about 1980.... yikes, old old times!

I remember this 2!

Most games were £30.

OMG, that price lol, goes to show, what rip off today's console prices and games are ;-) Couldn't afford one then... and can't now.

Its not the same company, Infro-games is a french company that sells games, when the previous atari went bust, they bought the name and became Atari games.

...its the same company.

atari still exist today licencing and plublishing games their website still there

Atari don't exist anymore. ;) There is another publisher by the same name and logo today though.

Are todays games really that different? First-person shooters are just an enhancement of space invaders, platforms from donkey kong, etc. Missile Command was always a duff one imho though ;-)

Anyone who thinks ataris have lost their class are faggots and can burn in hell. Atari over all.

It was the last console I ever bought, but Pacman wasn't in the shops, so we got Space invaders instead, I passed 00000 twice (at basic level), but my brother managed to pass it four times, one day...one day I'll beat that.

Hey, this was the stepping stone for todays games, for example, if Bill Gates or Steve Jobs wasnt born we would still be using the equivilent to a commodore 1024! Atari rocked!

Er...How much is PS3?
