The final slogan should be "Roting At Its Best"

I can think of many words to describe the Metro, and "aerodynamic" isnt one. It has the drag co-efficient of a wheeliebin!!!

cringe cringe cringe

the most stylish estate car ever made?? how much did they pay him to say that!

wow, that maestro was really fast....

Call Claims Direct, and fake whiplash!

A wanker trying to sell shit cars!

My parents had an Austin Montego for years! It took us on so many holidays to Cornwall. Still, I do remember it being in the repair garage a lot.

Squeal like a Blobby!! Weeeeeeeee Weeeeeeeee!!

Mr Blobby hasn't got a cock...mind you...he's got real purty lips and he sure can squeel good!

I'm just amazed how they got the workers off the picket line long enough to make this advert.

I'd rather suck Mr Blobbys Cock than drive a Austin Montego!

Probably the same as a side-on collision...in any car...unless you think two pieces of steel rod spot welded to the door would save you? Anyway, a great idea for rear enders is fitting a tow bar...cheap and effective.

You could get plenty of shopping in the back too...and I bet those handbrake turns impressed the other metro owning blue rinses as you came out of Sainsburys car park!

Volvo and Peugeot also used rear facing seats in their seven seaters.

Check out Top Gear Oldtimer Challenge parts 4 and 5...there's a guy under the name of sstabeler2 who keeps slagging off BL cars...why not lets fill his inbox with comments to the contrary??

...and in the event of a nasty rear-end shunt???

Actually, in the event of a frontal collision, it's safest to be facing backwards, as the back of the seat stops you being thrown towards the front of the car. It's why cabin crew have rear-facing seats on passenger jets.

Excellent vid memories good days

i had 3 metros my las was a MG fuckin pucker for handbrake turns the montego wasd a pile of shit as for the meastro it look like a poofs car

I've owned an MG meastro+a Pug 1.9 GTI,always thought the meastro was a better package, more room, almost as quick, safer feeling at high speeds, better brakes and plastic bits didn't fall off the body like they did on the Pug.Pug handled better but that was all. Bought both cars with under 30k on the clock, so neither were clunkers.

I'll bet Noel E didnt have one. Someone once said to me about BL "They nearly made very good cars" Now that sounds a load of crap. But the more I thought about it the more I agree. The problem with BL was they never sorted out the faults, year after year same faults, and niggles, It just went on and on. Plus all the in fighting. BL knew about these problems. Then Japan came and whipped their ass. It all had to end somewhere. Very sad really.

i had an f reg mg montego, felt like a 1300,not a two litre, heaps of trouble,to be fair, the car had 100,00 miles when i sold it,so it was not that bad,the most comfortable car ever, awesome mg velour seats

Did people REALLY sit facing backwards in the boot space??? Death trap!!!
